This horrible incident is captured on video of a man being beaten relentlessly by NYPD officers.

Officer Maurice Harrington is caught on video whacking Michael Cephus with a baton while another cop handcuffs the suspect before they finally subdue him.

The victim screams in agony as the officer inflicts savage blows to his legs with a baton causing extreme pain and bleeding while crying out that his arm has been injured.

Way to protect and serve, jackasses!

Cephus had been trying to reach a park along the East River to watch the fireworks and the police had accused him of illegally trying to carry liquor inside.

Police maintain that Cephus had been drinking, swung at police officers with an umbrella, hit two cops with his fists and refused to be handcuffed.

Cephus’ attorney Steven Orlow told that his client did not have any liquor, was not intoxicated, did not strike the officers and should not have been arrested.

“I would never strike an officer,” the news station quoted Cephus, a former truck driver, as saying. “Why should I get beat up? Why should anybody get beat up?”

The officer wielding the baton, Maurice Harrington, 31, had been stripped of his gun and badge and placed on desk duty while the incident was investigated.
